Event Details

Tired of toting around the burden of that unfinished, unedited manuscript? Then it's time to enlist in Fat Plum's Book Boot Camp: where books become all they can be!

Whether your manuscript is just begun or almost done, it's time to report for duty. You might want detailed manuscript critiquing. Perhaps you have plotting problems you want to work out. Or maybe you're ready to discuss sales and marketing options. At Book Boot Camp, you'll find the guidance and discipline you need, including assigned goals for the following week, all specific to your project.

Each participant will read aloud a portion of her/his work in progress each week. Campers will then receive focused feedback including specific suggestions for improving the clarity, depth, and marketability of the piece. Fiction, nonfiction, poetry, essays, articles, etc. are all accepted.

The Boot Camp is a constructive, productive way to take your writing to the next level. The camaraderie that results among Campers is an intangible bonus. Contact us for additional information.

The camp runs six weeks on Monday evenings from 6 to 9 pm starting on Feb. 22, 2010 and ending Mar. 29. Your registration gives you access to all six sessions.

Book Boot Camp also features a lending library available to you throughout the course. You can check out titles on plotting, inspiration, publishing, proposal writing and more, to help you progress with your project. Some of the books listed in our Writing Books Worth Reading are available, as well as others we've found helpful and interesting.

NOTE:  Book Boot Camp is for adults ages 21 and over.

"It's a great format to receive constructive feedback in a supportive, non-competitive environment. I'll definitely be back!"
—Susan Courtad (worked on her novel at BBC)

"The Book Boot Camp surpassed all my expectations. I get very excited telling other writers about this group. It's fun, very helpful and professional. It gets your juices flowing!"
—Da'rell Dawn (attended a summer Book Boot Camp—had never previously taken a writing class!)
